Start as you wish to continue

We had planned for a pretty quiet New Year’s Eve celebration last night (except for the few minutes that the kids always go wild with their little party horns) but I still wanted to put together a combination to mark the transition between calendar years.

I usually spend part of the day on New Year’s Eve cleaning and tidying, so that I start the new year on the right foot. It just puts my mind at ease and helps set the tone for the coming year. But, my brother-in-law is visiting us for a few days and I didn’t feel like hauling out the vacuum and cleaning supplies in the middle of it all. So, I decided to take a different approach. Instead, I finished a book, we took our kids skating, and I finally finished porting everything over to my latest theme here.

Our house might be a bit messier than usual, but I think I still ended things the right way. And, therefore, hopefully still set the right tone for the coming year.

Happy New Year everyone!
